Our Team

John Neblett – Director of Training:

John is a Sig Sauer Master Pistol Instructor and NRA Advanced Pistol Instructor.  He holds certifications from the NC Department of Justice as a NC Concealed Carry Instructor and the NRA in Pistol, Rifle, Shotgun and Personal Defense instruction. 

When employed as an Instructor and Range Officer at Wake County Firearms Education and Training Center, John wrote the Defensive Pistol, Defensive Rifle, and Practical Concealed Carry curriculums. 

A NRA Distinguished Expert in Pistol and Rifle, he holds over 30 certifications in firearms, legal, and medical disciplines from nationally recognized organizations.  He is currently enrolled in the Raidon Tactics R.A.I.D. Warrior program.





Ed Fletcher – Senior Instructor:

Ed is a NRA certified Pistol, Personal Protection, and Range Safety Officer most recently employed as an Instructor and RO at the Wake County Firearms Education and Training Center.  He is also certified by the NC Department of Justice to teach the NC Concealed Cary Certification course.

Ed has advanced training in long range shooting (1000 yds.) and is experienced in reloading rifle and pistol ammunition.  He is a competive shooter participating in Action Pistol and Shotgun Skeet events.  He is a member of 3 shooting clubs in the area; Sir Walter Gun Club, Frontline Defense, and San Lee Gun Club. Previously, Ed was an airline Captain with American Airlines for 32 years.






Barry Silberman – Senior Instructor

Barry retired from the corporate world 15 years ago and has been a Chief Range Safety Officer and Instructor at the Wake County Firearms Education & Training Center for the past 12 years. He is certified by the NC Department of Justice as a Concealed Carry Instructor and has NRA certification in all of their Pistol, Rifle, Shotgun, and Protection disciplines. He has been a shooter/hunter/ action pistol competitor for over 30 years and was one of the early members of the USPSA.
