Concealed Carry

Training to obtain your concealed carry permit. Practical Concealed carry classes cover what it takes to carry a concealed weapon.

NC Concealed Carry – This is the North Carolina mandated 8hr class to receive a concealed carry permit. Students are required to have their own pistol, 50 rounds of ammo, and eye and ear protection. Students will take both a written and shooting test. The Basic Pistol class is recommended for new shooters prior to taking the NC CCH class.

Shooting exam requires student to perform without assistance. Instructor will assist ONLY to clear pistol jams that the student cannot solve. Students failing shooting exam may return within 3 months at no cost to requalify.

If shooting semi-automatic the following tasks are required: load magazine 5 rounds in 20 seconds, insert and remove magazine, charge pistol by racking slide, locking slide to rear, setting safety.

Safe pistol handling includes: muzzle down range at all times (unless shooting from holster), finger off trigger until sights are aligned on target and decision to shoot is made, finger off trigger BEFORE gun is brought off target. All safety instructions MUST be followed.

Students that fail to perform required tasks or follow instructions of the instructor / range officer may be asked to leave the range.

Practical Concealed Carry 1 – An NC Concealed Carry permit is required. For the individual that is considering or just beginning carrying concealed, this class goes through the basics of what it takes to carry concealed and lifestyle changes that it requires. The student will learn the basics of choosing a carry pistol, holster, ammo, and cover garments. On the range, the student will learn the proper methods of drawing from concealment and how various garments affect the draw. Student is required to bring one open face garment and one closed face garment. Students are also required to have their own pistol, holster, 3 magazines, mag pouch, eye and ear protection and 250 rounds of ammo. 4 hrs.

Practical Concealed Carry 2 – A continuation of PCC1, students will learn basic defensive engagement tactics while drawing from concealment, failure recovery, and one handed primary and support hand engagement techniques. Student will practice using different types and layers of garments. Student is required to bring multiple open face and closed face garments. Students are also required to have their own pistol, holster, 3 magazines, mag pouch, eye and ear protection and 250 rounds of ammo. 4 hrs.

Open Practice Days – These are opportunities for students to practice their shooting. The session is not instructor led, however an instructor will be present to assist students in their training. Different sessions for pistol and rifle / shotgun are held. Students are required to bring their own equipment.
